March 2010:Attorneys Attend State Construction Law Conference
Eight attorneys attended and represented Griffith Nixon Davison, P.C. at the 23rd Annual Construction Law Conference which was held February 25-26 at the Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio. The Annual Conference held each spring is sponsored by the Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Texas in cooperation with The Texas Institute of Continuing Legal Education and features the hottest topics presented by leading construction law professionals.
February 2010:Scott Griffith Receives “Super Lawyer” Recognition
Scott Griffith was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in Super Lawyers Magazine Corporate Counsel Edition in the Construction Litigation practice area. February 2010:GND Introduces New Associates
GND is pleased to announce the addition of two new associates: Carie Jones and Daniel Terrell.
Carie Jones will be working as an Associate in GND’s Litigation Section. Ms. Jones attended The University of Texas, where she graduated
with honors in 1996. In 1999, Ms. Jones graduated summa cum laude from the Texas Tech School of Law where she was a member of Order of
the Coif and Associate Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review. Ms. Jones also has an L.L.M from the New York University School of Law. Ms.
Jones joins Griffith Nixon Davison, P.C. after spending several years with one of the nation’s largest law firms. In her 10+ year career,
Ms. Jones has gained extensive trial and litigation experience in both State and Federal Courts. Ms. Jones is licensed to practice law
in the states of Texas, Oklahoma and New York, as well as all U.S. District Courts in Texas and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern
and Eastern Districts of New York. In addition, Ms. Jones is a Solicitor in England and Wales. Ms. Jones is a member of the State Bar
of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. She resides in Dallas
with her husband and two children.
Daniel Terrell will be working as an Associate in GND’s Transactional Section. A Louisiana native, Mr. Terrell graduated from Southeastern
Louisiana University with a B.S. in Finance in 2001. He then attended Louisiana State University’s (LSU) School of Law where he served as
a member on the Louisiana Law Review. He graduated from LSU Law School in 2004. Immediately upon graduating from Law School, Mr. Terrell
worked as an Associate at one of the nation’s largest law firms. Thereafter, for the past few years, Mr. Terrell served as Division General
Counsel for The Shaw Group, Inc., a diverse engineering, construction, technology, fabrication, environmental and industrial services
organization with 28,000 employees in strategic locations around the world. Mr. Terrell has authored numerous publications and is a
frequent speaker/presenter at various Construction law seminars and conferences.
February 2010:GND Associate Sarah MarDock to Deliver Speech on Social Networking
Sarah Mardock, a GND Litigation Associate, will be delivering a speech titled “The Legal Implications of Social Networking” to
the TEXO Women’s Forum in Dallas on February 17, 2010.
As the title of her speech suggests, Ms. Mardock’s speech will be focused on the wide world of social networking. She will explain the
workings of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and blogging, with an emphasis on how these tools can be used both as personal and business
networking tools. In addition, Ms. Mardock will address some of the legal implications and ramifications of social networking for
employers and employees. The speech will take place at 12:00pm on February 17, 2010 at TEXO’s Dallas Conference Center at 11111 N.

Ms. Mardock is a graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where she participated in both the ABA and National
Moot Court Competition and was a member of the SMU Student Bar Association. Prior to attending law school, Sarah earned her undergraduate
degree in Finance from the University of Texas in Austin.
January 2010:“Best Real Estate Deals” Award Finalist - Kimber Davison and GND Transactional Section
Kimber Davison has been listed as a key player in two real estate deals that have been selected as finalists in the
Dallas Business Journal’s 18th Annual Best Real Estate Deals Awards program. These awards recognize the top real estate transactions of 2009 and

January 2010: Article Appears in Dallas Bar Association’s Headnotes
The January edition of the Dallas Bar Association’s HEADNOTES features an article authored by Mike Nixon.
The article is titled, “Five Things Every Non-Construction Lawyer Should Know About Construction Law.” In the article, Mr. Nixon discusses
various construction law issues including Texas lien law, the basics of the AIA documents and the law regarding removables. To read this article,

January 2010: Griffith Nixon Davison, P.C. Serves with Salvation Army
Griffith Nixon Davison, P.C. took part in a service opportunity with Salvation Army-Dallas over the holidays.
The firm spent two evenings serving nearly 1,000 meals to the Dallas area homeless at the Salvation Army’s Carr P. Collins Social Service Center.
It was an honor to partner with Salvation Army and have a small hand in the great work they do in and around the DFW Metroplex.
December 2009: GND Names New Partner
GND is happy to announce the addition of a new partner, Curtis Hubbard, who has served as a Director
in the Firm’s Litigation Section since 2007. Mr. Hubbard attended Arkansas Tech University where he
graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1998. In 2000, Mr. Hubbard graduated from the Baylor University School
of Law where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi and an Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review. Mr.
Hubbard joined the firm immediately upon graduating from law school. In his 10 years with the firm,
Mr. Hubbard has gained extensive trial and litigation experience, handling complex construction matters,
as well as general commercial and business litigation matters. Mr. Hubbard is a member of the State Bar
of Texas’ and Dallas Bar Association’s Construction Law Section and Business Litigation
Section. In addition to being admitted to the State Bar of Texas, Mr. Hubbard is also admitted to
the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern and Eastern District of Texas and is licensed to
practice law in the State of Arkansas. Mr. Hubbard is married to Jennifer Hubbard, an Associate with
Griffith Nixon Davison, P.C.. Curtis and Jennifer and their children reside in Frisco, where Curtis
serves on the Frisco Chamber of Commerce.
December 2009: GND Appoints New Director
GND is pleased to announce that Jason Cagle, an Associate in the Firm’s Litigation Section since 2008,
has been appointed as a Director of the firm. Mr. Cagle graduated magna cum laude from Loyola Marymount
University in 1998 with a degree in Political Science and a Minor in Computer Science. He then attended
and graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law where he served as Articles Editor of the Law Review
and was a member of the Order of the Coif and Moot Court Board. Mr. Cagle is an active member of the
American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Young Lawyers’
Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Defense Research Institute. In addition
to being licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, Mr. Cagle is also licensed in the State of New
York and is admitted to practice law in all U.S. District Courts in Texas, the U.S. District Courts for
the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr.
Cagle is an active member of the Dallas Volunteer Attorneys Program and serves as a Judge for the Texas
High School Mock Trial Competition. Jason and his wife and son reside in Dallas.
December 2009: Scott Griffith Appointed to TEXO Association Board of Directors
Scott Griffith, Founding Partner, has been elected to serve on the TEXO Association Board of Directors.
TEXO is the Construction Association representing commercial contractors in North and East Texas. With over
1,900 members, TEXO is the largest commercial contractors association in Texas. TEXO provides its members
with innovative programs, quality services and strategic alliances while protecting a merit shop working environment.
The Association maintains a strategic focus on specific areas such as governmental representation, safety,
health and environmental issues, professional training and education and community and networking events.
Mr. Griffith began his three-year term on the TEXO Association Board of Directors in the fall of 2009.
December 2009: Kimber Davison Elected to State Bar of Texas Construction Law Section Council
Kimber Davison, Managing Partner, was recently nominated and elected to serve on the State Bar of Texas
Construction Law Section Council. The Construction Law Section is made up of over 1,000 legal professionals
serving in both the public and private sectors across the state of Texas. In addition to publishing the Texas
Construction Law Journal, the Section holds an Annual Conference each spring featuring the hottest topics and
leading construction law professionals, as well as the Basic Course in Texas Construction Law which is held each
fall for those attorneys new to the field. Ms. Davison has begun a three year term as a Member on the Construction

December 2009: GND Transactional Section Completes "Warp Speed" Closing
The GND transactional section completed representation of the Seller in the sale of an office building where closing was accomplished
in less than six weeks. The The Dallas Morning News described the transaction as being completed in “warp speed.” See the full DMN
